One of the biggest problems for businesses today is keeping track of their employees. Especially since many companies nowadays outsource at least some of the work that is being done, whether it’s outsourcing bookkeeping tasks, or even customer support.

So with some employees physically showing up for work, and some working remotely, keeping track of everyone and their time worked can quickly become a nightmare for human resource professionals.

And this doesn’t even include all of the applicable laws regarding their employees as far as taxes, compensation and insurance.

One of the ways HR is dealing with this problem of tracking employees and making sure their working times are properly documented and then the employee is compensated correctly is to use software and apps.

These tools help not only document time worked, but also a host of other information like a complete history of the employee including sick days, vacation, pay raises, promotions and other HR bookkeeping tasks.

One such solution is IndexTimeClocks.com, a company that uses both a time clock software and portable app to help keep track of all employee movements and working times. Due to its “portability” anywhere in the world and needing nothing more than a smart phone to access and use the platform, tools like these are making human resource department’s jobs a lot easier.

Not only do these types of platforms keep track of employees regardless of their location, but they also track other stats that can help ensure that the employee is indeed logging in and no one else is logging in for them using a biometric fingerprint technology.

This is one of the first strategies any HR consultant would likely implement when being called in to restructure and find problems with a company’s employee process and procedures.
